Weekend Update - Express, Gap, Macy's, Victoria's Secret, The Body Shop

I made my way over to the Newport Mall in New Jersey this Friday to scope out the effect of the economy on retail sales. A discerning shopper as always, I fished for the best deals and turned my nose up at others.

Express was having an additional 40% off their clearance items. I scored panties for $1.79 after the discount. Men's dress shirts were down to $18 after the discount too. Hurry though - items were being cleared out fast! I also bought some essential basic crewnecks at Macy's for $8.50 (with 15% off if you use your Macy's card). Victoria's Secret was still having their 75% off promotion for their beauty products. All of them seemed uninteresting and there was still a lot of stock left. I definitely think those will be marked down further.

Jeers to The Body Shop for selling body washes for $9 and my favorite face cleanser for $12! They did have some great markdowns on men's facial products for $3-4. Definite jeers to Gap for their dismal and damaged clearance section.
